Judi Parkinson and Freda Smith, members of Kirkby Inner Wheel Club, packed more than 29 bags with baby and children’s clothes, nappies, towels and toiletries as well as books and toys.

They were collected by the National Police Aid Charity (NPAC) and sent in a container to Africa.

The goods were donated by members of the club and packed in very colourful bags.

NPAC, based in Forest Town, regularly send goods to poorer countries and recently sent a 40ft container of school equipment, such as desks, chairs and even a piano, to Zambia.
