Four Seasons Shopping Centre in Mansfield is working in association with their local charity of the year, John Eastwood Hospice, to provide much needed funds for their care services this Christmas.
The John Eastwood Memory Tree will launch in the shopping centre on Friday, 5th December and will be open daily until Monday, 5th January.
During this time, shoppers will be able to write a memory of someone special on a star shaped gift tag and hang this on the Memory Tree. Shoppers will be encouraged to make a donation however small or large to the charity in exchange for their memory being hung on the tree.
John Eastwood Hospice provides specialist palliative care for people with advanced or progressive disease such as cancer, motor neurone disease, heart failure and other long term conditions. Holistic care is provided by consultants, nurses, clinical nurse specialists, physio, occupational and complementary therapists, a social worker, chaplain and clinical psychologist.
The services, which aim to maximise quality of life for patients and families are supported by a team of voluntary staff.
Rebekah O’Neill, Centre Manager commented: “The Memory Tree is a fantastic addition to our Christmas decorations this year and we are delighted to be able to support such a well deserving charity. We hope to raise as much money for the John Eastwood Hospice as possible!
“It is really simple and easy to support the charity and at the same time you can write your thoughtful message in memory of someone special. All we ask is that our shoppers visit the Christmas tree located at the Customer Service Desk within the centre, where hundreds of tags will be available for you to write your special message and a donation box close by.”
Yvonne Shucksmith, Fundraising Manager at John Eastwood Hospice, commented: “We are really privileged to have had the support of Four Seasons throughout 2014 and it is great that we can finish the year with a lovely way of fundraising for the Hospice. We would like to thank the shopping centre for all their support throughout the year in helping us raise funds for our charity.”
