The next round of funding from Nottinghamshire County Council’s Community Commemoration Fund is now under way. Towns and villages can claim up to £300 to help them commemorate the Great War in their local area.

The council wants groups to bring the history of the first world war to life and help people understand how the war impacted on their community. The fund was launched at Mansfield Museum.

Groups can apply for funding by downloading an application form from www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk/trenttotrenches or calling 0300 500 8080.

Closing date for applications is Friday, 9th January, 2015.

This round of applications will cover events and activities taking place between 1st February, 2015 and 31st July, 2015.
