Invest Ashfield & Mansfield put north Nottinghamshire under the noses of some of the most influential property experts, agents and developers at the largest and most-respected property show in the industry.
The two districts’ investment team, Invest Ashfield & Mansfield, showcased local business potential to more than 4,000 decision-makers, business analysts and economic development professionals at last week’s property show, MIPIM UK.
The investment team met with large employers, investment managers and property agents, promoting what Ashfield and Mansfield have to offer to those who could bring their businesses and jobs to the area.
Some 20 AMbassadors from Invest Ashfield & Mansfield attended throughout the three-day show in London’s Olympia to bang the drum for the area.
Representatives ranged from officers from the investment team to local councillors as well as Ashfield and Mansfield’s own businesses.
Cllr Jim Aspinall, portfolio holder for regeneration at Ashfield District Council, said: “Being here is about bringing jobs to Ashfield and Mansfield. This show is where UK towns and cities compete for those large employers looking to expand or relocate their businesses. Unless we are here showing what Ashfield and Mansfield can do for them, we’ll always lose out to the other towns and cities who maintain their presence here.”
Cllr Kate Allsop, portfolio holder for economic regeneration at Mansfield District Council, said: “This has been a wonderful few days. We’ve made really important contacts with people who talk to employers of all shapes and sizes. We are now in a position to develop those relationships so that we can attract more employers to this area and the jobs they bring as a result.”
Ashfield and Mansfield businesses A-Star Media, Lindhurst Engineering and promoters of the Lindhurst and Summit Park developments attended to provide first-hand evidence of how well local SMEs are doing as a result of being based in the area.
Martin Rigley, of Lindhurst Engineering, said: “Our business does well here because it’s cost-effective, our staff are loyal and hard-working and we are really welllocated to reach customers all over the UK. It makes us competitive and it means we can continue to grow.”
