Laptops gift for primary school pupils

Supermarket giant Asda has donated 10 laptops to Dalestorth Primary School, Sutton, as part of its initiative to provide more than 7,000 across the UK to help children who don’t have the technology to take part in home learning.

The supermarket partnered with Dell to invest more than £2m so that every Asda store in the UK could donate at least 10 laptops to a school in need in their local community.

The Asda store on Priestsic Road nominated nearby Dalestorth Primary School, which has some families struggling to access technology.

Asda community champion Hayley Carrington delivered them to the school.

She said the donation would make a massive difference to both the school and the families who receive the laptops.

Each laptop included a tech bundle with a headset and a mobile internet dongle with a data allowance of 20gb from Asda’s network partner, Vodafone.

The dongle and data allowance has been funded by a separate £500,000 contribution from the retailer’s charity arm, The Asda Foundation.

The laptops included a one-year warranty and technical support.
