Business goes Green and plants 4,000 trees in a month

A Huthwaite creative agency that changed its business model at the start of the coronavirus pandemic to supply PPE has made another valuable contribution to the world.

Trusted PPE, launched by CCM Group last April during the first wave of the crisis, planted 4,000 trees in February as part of a campaign to offset its carbon emissions.

Since then it has protected the health and wellbeing of tens of thousands of people across the UK, supplying homes, businesses and key workers with more than 28 million items of PPE.

However, the business recognised the impact it was having on the planet due to the unprecedented need for protection and hygiene products.

So in January CCM Group and Trusted PPE set out to ‘go green’ and offset the carbon footprint created by each employee, by officially becoming a Climate Positive Workforce.

Then in February, Trusted PPE launched a month-long campaign, called Forest February, to offset carbon emissions created by the brand.

This was run in partnership with Ecologi, a global leader in helping companies and individuals plant trees and fund the world’s best climate crisis solutions.

From every purchase of Trusted PPE children’s masks, snoods and antibacterial wipes throughout February, £1 was donated to tree planting and offsetting carbon emissions through the funding of sustainability projects across the world.

As part of this campaign Trusted PPE has planted 4,000 trees, equating to four forests and offsetting more than 80 tonnes of CO2 from the atmosphere.

The initiative contributed to two major projects that directly impacted atmospheric CO2 levels in Papua New Guinea and Indonesia.

Richard Ardis, co-founder of Trusted PPE, said: “Trusted PPE has grown into a reputable and responsible brand, working closely with its parent company, CCM Group, which has recently become a Climate Positive Workforce.

“During the coronavirus pandemic, we have been a lifeline for many people, and we now look to provide some positive news to what has seemingly been bleak for the past few months.

“As a team, we are proud to be able to support these carbon reduction projects on a global scale. It is so important that individuals and organisations place a real focus into protecting the future for generations to come.”

Trusted PPE aims to take further climate action to help protect the environment with future plans including further tree-planting and litter-picking projects around the UK.
