Idlewells prepared for Tier 4 restrictions

Posted onPosted on 31st Dec

Sutton-based shopping centre Idlewells has confirmed that a host of non-essential stores will again close because Nottinghamshire has been placed under Tier 4 restrictions.

10 stores will remain open to provide essential supplies for customers, including Heron Foods, Boots, Superdrug, Holland & Barrett and Specsavers.

Access to Idlewells has been restricted with entry only permitted via the bus station or Low Street. Queuing systems also remain in force with distance markers in place outside each store to ensure that social distancing guidelines are being followed by shoppers.

The centre will open from 8am-6pm, Monday to Saturday, and 10am-4pm on Sundays. On-site toilet facilities will also be accessible with attendants on hand from 10am to 4pm.

The centre’s car park will remain open with parking charges in operatio. Those wishing to use Idlewells’ Amazon lockers can continue to do so for parcel collections, however all children’s rides, vending machines and the photo booth will close. A reduced number of chairs will also be available in the centre with some reallocated to the central square.

Centre manager Chloe O’Donnell explained: “As a team, we’re very much prepared as and when new restrictions are announced to ensure the safety of our customers and staff.

“I would like to thank our team and all our customers for their continued understanding and cooperation as we ask them to continue to follow the guidelines in place. We wish to remind our customers that signage remains in place and our staff are on hand to ensure that the Government’s advice is being followed.

“Our essential retailers will continue to trade and our car park will also remain open. We ask customers to continue to check our website for any further news and updates in relation to our car park and to see the full list of shops which remain open.

“We’re keen to stress that these measures will not be as restrictive as the first lockdown but we do ask that customers only visit us if it is essential in order to control the spread of the virus. Above all we ask people to stay safe, look out for one another and be kind. By working together, we can continue to make Idlewells a safe place for shoppers to visit.”
