Several play areas across Ashfield are to see improvements in 2021 thanks to an additional £336,000 investment from the district council.

The money is in addition to £1.5m already committed to green space improvements by March 2021.

The new projects include:

Completion of stone-carved mining statues and additional car parking at Brierley Forest Park, Huthwaite.
Installation of new play areas at Sorrel Drive and Skegby Road Recreation Ground.
Improvements at West Park, Kirkby.

Coun David Martin, cabinet member for streets, parks and town centres at Ashfield District Council, said: “We are committed to keeping our outdoor spaces as some of the best in the county.”
