Co-operation counts for Amazons charity!

Posted onPosted on 22nd Dec

The Amazons Breast Cancer Support Group, which helps breast cancer patients at King’s Mill Hospital, Sutton, has received a cheque for £2,366.33 from the staff at Sutton’s Mapplewells Co-op.

The money was raised by donations from local shoppers through the Co-op’s Membership Community Fund.

This money will be added to a previous donation from the fund and used to refurbish the Amazon Lounge.

The lounge, situated in King’s Mill’s Breast Care Unit, is where the Amazon charity monthly support meetings are usually held, as well as being an informal setting for clinical staff and patients to use on a daily basis.

Coronavirus restrictions have temporarily halted both the Amazon meetings and the refurbishing of the room.
