Stags battle injuries

Posted onPosted on 26th Sep

Mansfield Town travel to Stevenage tomorrow in League Two looking for only their second ever win over Graham Westley’s team.

The Stags have played Boro four times before, in the 2008/09 and 2009/10 seasons.

They will be looking for a third consecutive win for the first time since April, following home victories against Morecambe and Carlisle United.

The 3-2 success over Carlisle came at a price, however, with a hamstring injury meaning midfielder Chris Clements is out for around a month. Fellow midfield playmaker Fergus Bell is also a doubt with a persistent shoulder problem and a further midfielder, Heslop, is another player who has been struggling with injury.

During the week player assistant manager Adam Murray distanced himself from links with the vacant manager’s job at Tamworth.
