Budding young people with talents in the arts, music, dance and drama are being invited to apply to take part in autumn auditions for Showcase 2015 being organised by Nottinghamshire County Council’s County Youth Arts team.
And for the first time, successful musicians could have the opportunity to perform at the Royal Concert Hall in Nottingham.
Young people aged between 13 and 19 who live in the county can apply as either individuals or groups for the annual competition which promotes the cream of creative talent in the county.
Some participants could get to work with a range of creative experts at County Youth Arts to develop their talent and then have the opportunity to perform their act in Showcase 2015 shows at either the Royal Concert Hall in Nottingham or the Palace Theatre in Mansfield in the new year.
Councillor Liz Plant, Vice-Chairman of the Children and Young People’s Committee, at Nottinghamshire County Council, said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for talented young people across the county with strong aspirations to get into the entertainment industry.
“Our County Youth Arts team have excellent industry links to professionals and are able to provide top class support to musicians, dancers, singers and others interested in getting into these careers – with the prospect of performing their act as part of Showcase 2015.”
