Kingfisher Court Care Home, Sutton, held a spectacular Alice In Wonderland-themed Mad Hatter’s Tea Party to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Residents and staff enjoyed a full day full of activities, taking part in a raffle, party games, cupcake sales, hat-making competitions and more.
Home admissions advisor Tracy Hickman said: “The residents really enjoyed the day and are still talking about how good it was.”
One of the residents, Shelia Haslam, had made a request on the home’s wishing tree that the staff would take part in a fancy-dress competition — and her wish came true when the team wore Alice In Wonderland-themed outfits.
She said: “It was amazingly arranged by lifestyle manager, Linda. She did a terrific job, her imagination knows no bounds, particularly the items that she decorates the home with.
“All the staff did a terrific job of dressing up. It was a splendid day and lovely how a lot was made of it.
“The hats which we had been decorating earlier in the week were also a lovely addition to the day.”
The home shared pictures of residents enjoying the event on social media for their families, and set up a JustGiving page to allow them to donate.
More than £178 has been raised by Kingfisher Court, a residential and dementia care home that is part of the Oakdale Care Group.
