Work on the new 63-bed £4m Travelodge in Mansfield is expected to be completed in October.

The hotel, based at the former Gala Bingo site off St Peters’ Way, will feature three floors of hotel rooms. The ground floor will include a hotel foyer and three retail units, for as yet unnamed businesses.

Paul Taylor, a spokesperson for the project’s main contractor, Harris cm, is reported to have said: “The works, which commenced in the summer of 2019, are scheduled for completion in October 2020.

“Construction was undertaken throughout the Covid pandemic, in accordance with a strictly monitored health and safety regime in order to maintain the health and safety of our workforce at all times.”
