Caring youngster Hannah Yates had her hair cut to help two good causes.

Hannah, 10, of Mansfield Woodhouse, has donated her long hair to the Little Princess Trust, which creates real hair wigs for children and young people who have lost their hair through cancer treatment or other conditions.

The Peafield Lane Academy pupil also raised £780 from sponsorship for the Sherwood Forest Foodbank, based in Mansfield Woodhouse.

Hannah, whose hair was cut by Hair by Kirsty, said: “I heard about the Princess Trust and thought that I could help people who were poorly and had lost their hair because they had cancer.

“I decided to give the money to the local foodbank because not everyone has the money to get the food they need in these difficult times.”
