Police in Mansfield were surprised and delighted to receive an envelope full of thank you letters and drawings from children at a primary school.

Officers at Mansfield Police Station received the package from children at Crescent Primary School, and began sharing them with colleagues.

Children at the school have been mailing the packages to keyworkers across the district.

Inspector Nick Butler, responsible for neighbourhood policing in Mansfield, said on behalf of the force: “I was particularly pleased to find these lovely letters, paintings and drawings.

“It really lifted the spirits in the police station and we want to say thank you to those wonderful children at the school who kindly gave their time to write the words of support.”
