Mansfield Rotary Club has given a foodbank a triple boost for a second successive month as it continues to help those in need during the coronavirus crisis.
The Sherwood Forest Foodbank, based at The Stable Centre in Mansfield Woodhouse, received £750 from the Rotary Club in June.
This was match-funded by Rotary District 1220, which means that the foodbank will shortly have access to a total of £1,500 — a month after it received a similar sum.
In addition, because the donation has been approved by Rotary District 1220, the foodbank can also access a Rotary purchasing scheme to buy food at ultra-competitive wholesale prices.
A spokesman for the foodbank, which is open at Church Street from 1.30pm to 4pm on Mondays and Thursdays, said it was fantastic news.
