Wheelchair half-marathon in memory of Dionn

Posted onPosted on 8th Jun

A caring Mansfield man completed a sponsored wheelchair half-marathon as a tribute to the mum of his partner after she lost her long battle against cancer.

Kieron Rimmer did 50 laps around the athletics track at Berry Hill Park, Mansfield, raising £2,200 on a blustery Saturday morning.

His partner, Amy-Leigh Fox-Wilson, lost her mother, Dionn Fox-Wilson, at the end of April after a five-year fight against cancer. The money will fund a headstone and also go to Maggie’s, a charity that helps people with cancer.

Dionn worked for Framework when she was well and also often referred clients to the charity, and other agencies, for support.

Kieron was helped on his fundraising half-marathon by Dionn’s son, Scott, who recorded the number of circuits of the track and Kieron’s times. It took him two hours 59 minutes.
