Mansfield Market makes plans for June return

Posted onPosted on 26th May

Mansfield District Council and traders are preparing to reopen Mansfield Market in June.

The council said: “As you may have seen in the latest Government update, outdoor markets are permitted to reopen from 1 June. Great news for your local Mansfield Market, which will be back up and running as soon as possible once we are able to meet the Covid-19 secure guidelines to protect shoppers and workers.

“Mansfield Market will not be ready to reopen on 1 June, but work is continuing on redesigning the layout and making sure social distancing can be followed for the safety of both traders and the public.

“Fees and charges are also being looked at. We are in direct contact with traders and will keep them updated as arrangements are confirmed.

“For all further updates on the reopening of the market please keep following us on social media.

“In the meantime, you can continue to support the traders who are still able to sell from the market as well as those who are selling online and by phone.

“Fresh fruit and veg, fish and meat stands are still there every week, plus pet food, plants, perfume and more are available to buy by phone and online.

“Visit the Mansfield Market Facebook page regularly to see who is trading when. We look forward to bringing more traders to you soon.”
