Brown bin service returning to Mansfield

Posted onPosted on 12th May

Mansfield District Council has revealed that its brown bin collections, suspended because of the coronavirus crisis, will return from Monday, 18th May.

The council said it was unable to take side waste or do any extra collections “so please be mindful of this when gardening and refilling your bin. Crews will not be able to return for missed bins.”

Sarah Troman, head of neighbourhood services, said: “During lockdown our refuse crews have been working hard to prioritise vital household waste and recycling collections.

“They have been overwhelmed by support from the public who really appreciate the continuation of these critical collections at this difficult time.

“Our priority continues to be the safety and wellbeing of our employees and all our waste collection services will remain under constant review. If, for any reason the situation changes, we will not hesitate to make appropriate changes to our waste services.”

You can sign up and pay for the service or order additional brown bins at www.mansfield.gov.uk/gardenwaste

In-cab technology tells crews which bins have been paid for so there is no need for bin stickers, but house numbers should be displayed clearly on bins.

People can check their bin day at www.mansfield.gov.uk/bindays.
