26 songs in 26 days to raise support for Jigsaw Support Scheme

Posted onPosted on 29th Apr

A volunteer with a Mansfield charity has taken on the 2.6 Challenge with a difference.

Marie Wragg is singing and playing her guitar to create a different song each day for the next 26 days to raise money for Jigsaw Support Scheme.

The charity was set up in 2000 to help local people living in Mansfield to get access to the support they needed to live independently at home.

She said Jigsaw works with some of most vulnerable people in community, who are living with dementia and other long-term illness.

Jigsaw members have been delivering food parcels to these people during lockdown, but their foodbank is running low and the charity needs further donations and support.

Donations can be taken to the Jigsaw Support Scheme office at Mansfield Fire Station, Monday to Friday from 10am to 2pm, or call 01623 232800.

Maria’s first song was her Mansfield take on the famous (Is This The Way To) Amarillo song, a hit for Tony Christie and then more recently with Peter Kay as a charity single.

Maria’s songs can be watched and listened to my searching for Jigsaw Support Scheme on Facebook.
