Coronavirus: Chocolate eggs donation to NHS staff

Posted onPosted on 24th Mar

The Knitting Nanas, a group of caring Mansfield grandmothers, have donated Cadbury’s Crème Eggs to NHS staff.

The women usually knit Easter bunnies and chicks containing the eggs to raise money for charity.

They buy the chocolate eggs themselves and then make the woolly bunny and chick covers during the year.

The gifts are sold for £1 at shops and doctors surgeries, but due to the coronavirus pandemic the Knitting Nanas have been unable to sell their handiwork.

So instead they handed over their chocolate treats free as a gesture of thanks to NHS staff at King’s Mill Hospital, Sutton.

Eggs were also donated to staff and residents at Baily House Care Home, Mansfield.
