More than 200 mutual aid groups have sprung up across the UK to support those suffering from the effects and threat of the coronavirus outbreak.
Covid-19 Mutual Aid UK is a group of volunteers supporting these local community groups organising mutual aid throughout the Covid-19 outbreak in the UK.
It focuses on providing resources and connecting people to their nearest local groups, willing volunteers and those in need.
A spokesman said: “We recognise that injustice doesn’t affect everyone equally and whilst we’re all at risk of Covid-19, there are some people who are more vulnerable and need greater support from the community.”

Mutual aid volunteers can drop off crucial supplies or make time for a friendly phone call among other help ideas.
The aim is to help the most vulnerable in society through the crisis. These include people who are self-isolating because they are elderly, those without family, people who have a disability and people with a long-term health condition.
“We really just want to make sure that people don’t end up suffering alone,” says Anna Vickerstaff, one of the coordinators of the national network.
