Frenbot Charity Football Match to return

Posted onPosted on 9th Jan

Two caring work colleagues who raised more than £3,000 for charity through a football match are to repeat their fundraising in 2019.

Craig French (right) and Russell Talbot (left), catering consultants at Full Circle Employment Agency, Mansfield, will stage the Frenbot Charity Football Match on 8th June at Forest Town Arena, from 2pm.

The first match in February last year raised £3,150.80 for The National Autistic Society — this year the event will be supporting the King’s Mill Hospital Toy Appeal and Once Upon A Smile, which provide opportunities for children to understand and express their emotions during bereavement in a fun and safe environment. Once Upon A Smile will be bringing celebrities from television, stage, radio and former footballers.

Children’s entertainment will include face-painting, a bouncy castle and a mini fun fair.

A drum and bugle band will be playing while players make their way on to the pitch and among the television stars attending will be Sandra Martin, from Gogglebox, and Chris Gascoyne, who plays Peter Barlow in Coronation Street.

Admission is £3 and raffle tickets for prizes donated by local businesses will be on sale.

Among the prizes so far are a football shirt signed by Everton star Leighton Baines football and hospitality tickets for a Mansfield Town match.
