A NEW County Council magazine, designed especially for families, starts arriving in Nottinghamshire schools this week.
Family Life magazine is one of a trio of new annual publications which have replaced the quarterly County News and, following a revamp of the authority’s publications, aim to provide information in a more targeted way.
Family Life is being distributed via every County Council infant, primary and junior school as well as children’s centres, libraries, country parks, tourist information centres and places of interest/visitor attractions in the city and around the county
It is packed with articles to help families save money, stay active, find fun things to do and it also provides useful schools information.
Features in this issue include:
l a pull-out-and-keep guide to what’s on across the county this summer, packed with over 100 events and activities
l real-life local stories on adoption and how the Council is helping some people get around independently using public transport
l tips on how to save over £1,000 a year by making a few small changes at home
l information on school meals and how to apply for a school place
l ideas to get your family active.
There’s also a reader survey which people can fill in – with all complete surveys being entered into a prize draw for the chance to win Notts Outlaw cricket goodies, including a shirt, bat and match tickets.
Family Life is one of three new publications, the others being County Life – aimed at all residents in the county and distributed directly to homes earlier this year – and Your Life, which is aimed at older people and which will be distributed in the autumn.
Family Life is also available to download on the County Council’s website at www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk/familylife
