Posted onPosted on 30th Sep

Mansfield Town Football in the Community has announced activities for the two-week October Half Term holiday, which includes a new girls only day, plus the return of Stags’ Little Kickers.

Football in the Community will be running five separate activities, spread across two weeks, for youngsters of all abilities to enjoy as FITC continues to celebrate 30 years of community engagement.

Football in the Community, based at the One Call Stadium, will be open every day for boys and girls, aged 5 to 15, to enjoy October Overload from 8.30am to 4pm. Crammed full of multi-sport activities and football fun, participants can enjoy a range of games and activities to keep them active throughout the holidays, priced at just £16 per day, from Monday, 21st October to Friday, 1st November.

On Thursday 31st October Football in the Community will be hosting another of its popular trip days, with this holiday’s location being Gulliver’s Kingdom in Derbyshire.

The girls only football day takes place at the RH Academy, Pleasley. It is called Girls United.

The session takes place on Friday, 25th October, 10am to 2pm and is open to girls, aged 5 to 15, of all footballing abilities, looking to develop their skills, confidence and make new friends through the game.

Priced at £12 per participant, Football in the Community coaches will put on a range of fun and interactive coaching games as well as a mini-tournament to allow all participants to competitively show off all their skills.

Stags Little Kickers will take place on Wednesday, 23rd October, at the One Call Stadium, 10-11am. Costing just £3 per child, the programme gives boys and girls, aged three and four, the opportunity play football, often for the first time, develop their skills and make new friends.

Led by an experienced coaching team, the project has already proved a brilliant way for youngsters to get an introduction into football and improve skills and self-confidence.

Mansfield Town Football in the Community is teaming up with the Stags Supporters Association to host the annual Junior SSA Halloween Party, at Jango’s Indoor Play Centre. Free for ALL Junior SSA Members for the 2019/20 season, the evening includes two hours play inside the play-centre with lots of spooky fun and games included for youngsters to enjoy. Non-Junior SSA members can attend for a cost of £5, which will sign the child up to the SSA and grant them two further free parties at Christmas, and Easter.

Speaking of the events, community manager Gary Shaw said: “With the school holidays now two weeks long, it was important that we put on a range of different activities for young people to enjoy.

“As always our daily activity [October Overload] remains the most popular as is held in high regard by parents/ guardians due to its range of activities and affordability.

“Stags Little Kickers proved really popular during the summer and we look forward to hosting this once more, whilst the girls day [Girls United] at the RH Academy is a fabulous opportunity to get more girls involved with the game, which we hope will see a knock on effect in terms of them being confident enough to attend match day clubs and enjoy the footballing experience more.”
