Oh What A Lovely War at Palace Theatre

Mansfield Palace Community Theatre will be live on stage at the Palace Theatre next week, bringing all the fun of the seaside end of pier show with Music Hall humour, innuendo, song and good old-fashioned fun in Oh What A Lovely War.

The jolly seaside Pierrot troupe, in the guise of ‘The Merry Roosters’ will be live on stage for this their annual Community Theatre performance.

Community Theatre Director Christopher Neil said: “The play’s content does focus on 1914 and the Great War, criticising the governments of the time and the tactics of senior officers, but, most importantly, it honours and reflects upon the brave soldiers who fought and were killed. It was crucial that this production brought that key element out.”

A collection will be taken by Royal British Legion local volunteers at the end of the show.

Oh What A Lovely War is at Mansfield Palace Theatre from Thursday, 3rd–Saturday, 5th July at 7.30pm with a matinee performance on Saturday at 2.30pm. Tickets are £7 full / £5 schools / £23 family of four (no booking fee).

To book, call the Box Office on 01623 633133 or book online at www.mansfield.gov.uk/palacetheatre (fees apply).
