Grants to help two green projects

Two local projects have been awarded grants through the Nottinghamshire EnviroGrant scheme — the Reduce, Reuse, Recycling Fund run by Nottinghamshire County Council waste contractor Veolia to support projects that inspire people to think differently about waste and resources.

Healdswood Infant School, Skegby, has won £600 towards equipment for the development of its forest schools area, including a composter, children’s gardening tools and a greenhouse, which will be built using recycled bottles.

Oaktree Conservation Group, Mansfield, was awarded £298 to buy clothing, boots and gloves to ensure the group can continue with litter picking on Oaktree Heath and the surrounding area.

If you have an idea or are already running a project that helps to inspire others to be thoughtful about waste, the grant could help you get equipment or resources. The next application deadline is Thursday, 18th July. Apply online at www.veolia.co.uk/nottinghamshire/envirogrant
