Kirkby Inner Wheel Club has given its support to the charity Think Children.

The club welcomed Wendy Walton-Towle to a monthly meeting, where she gave a presentation on the work of the charity before being presented with a cheque for £450.

Based in Newark, Think Children aims to improve the emotional resilience of vulnerable children, aged from 4 to 11. It provides an early intervention service for those with emerging social, emotional or behavioural issues and who fall below the threshold for statutory intervention.

Sessions are conducted on a one-to-one basis, usually in the familiar surroundings of a primary school with minimum disruption to the school day.

The meeting was also the club’s annual general meeting and reports were presented by officers.
