Posted onPosted on 28th Jun

Mansfield area people were among the winners at the third Inspire Awards evening at Mansfield Central Library.

The Inspire Awards are an annual chance to celebrate the achievements of individuals, staff, and partners that are part of Inspire.

The awards were presented by the chairman of Nottinghamshire County Council, Coun Kevin Rostance, and the leader, Coun Kay Cutts.

Among the Mansfield winners was Jess Fisher (pictured above with Coun Rostance) in the Creativity and Innovation Award. She uses her adapted wheelchair controller to perform and compose music.

Finalists included the Inspire Youth Arts team (An Inspiration To Me), based at The Old Library, for its commitment to young people; Mansfield Library’s building officers (Unsung Hero); digital street dancers Genetic Hype and Portland College (Innovative Partnership Award) for their partnership in providing inclusive dance sessions.

Peter Gaw, chief executive officer of Inspire, said: “I am proud of the staff, partners, volunteers and projects recognised at our awards.”
