A team of pharmacy support workers have won the runners-up award as CCG Team of the Year for their excellent work for people living in care homes.

Often those residing in long-term care can be on multiple medications, many of which can have additional side effects like dizziness, making individuals more prone to falling over.

The team work with GPs and care home staff to minimise medication effects as well as reducing the amount of medication waste.

David Ainsworth, locality director for Mid Nottinghamshire CCGs, said: “I am really proud of this team. They’ve really made a difference to people’s lives, improve outcomes and all at a lower cost.”
