Research activities highlighted at hospital trust

Posted onPosted on 1st Dec

Patients and visitors at King’s Mill Hospital, Sutton, have been invited to find out more about important clinical research that’s happening at Sherwood Forest Hospitals.

On Wednesday, 13th December, as part of a drive to help improve patient care, patients, visitors and staff will be able to learn about a range of research activities that are happening at the trust and how they can get involved at the hospital.

Research staff will be on hand to talk about what the research involves and successful research trials the trust has already undertaken.

Staff will also provide expert advice to people wishing to undertake research activities. Information about resources available to researchers to assist them to conduct clinical trials within their specialist areas will also be available.

Research team leader for Sherwood Forest Hospitals, Dominic Nash, said: “Since April this year we have successfully recruited more than 900 patients to research trials in many clinical areas across the Trust”

“Clinical research improves health outcomes and getting involved not only has the potential to benefit the people that take part, but also gives the opportunity to have a positive impact on the care and treatment of other patients in the future”

“I would encourage everyone to come along and find out more, whether they have a particular interest in research or not.”
