It’s a little bit creepy at college’s nursery

Youngsters at West Nottinghamshire College’s Butterflies Day Nursery got into the Halloween spirit.

Three and four-year-old children,n who attend the day nursery at the Derby Road campus in Mansfield, paraded their creepy, creative costumes at the college, during their trick or treat walk on Tuesday.

The group were dressed as witches, pumpkins, mummies and skeletons and appealed to people they met on their costume parade for donations that they could put towards the nursery’s Christmas party fund.

Later in the day, the children enjoyed carving small pumpkins, as part of their creative and messy play activity.

Nursery manager Sally-Ann Jackson said: “All the children looked amazing in their costumes and they really got into character. Both the children and their parents have done a superb job and put a lot of time and detail into the outfits.

“Everyone at the college seemed impressed by their fancy dress and contributed very kindly with plenty of sweet treats and we raised over £21 which we’re going to put towards the Christmas party fund, to buy presents and decorations.”

The nursery has four age-appropriate rooms for children and provides a safe and stimulating environment that caters for children aged from six weeks to five years.
