The Theatre Royal, Nottingham, has won three awards for its outstanding contribution to the 2013 Family Arts Festival.
It won Best Family Venue, Best Family Welcome and Best Family Event for its family open day in October.
The theatre ran several events, including a family swing dance workshop, a special session of its Beanbag Music Club, week-long performances of Michael Morpurgo’s The Butterfly Lion and the open day.
David Longford, creative learning manager for the Theatre Royal, accepted the award at a joint ceremony with The Campaign for Drawing’s Big Draw.
He said: “The fact we have been chosen by the public is a tremendous achievement for all the hard work from our staff.”
