Building society’s help for Warsop centre

Posted onPosted on 23rd Aug

The Mansfield Building Society has donated £500 through its Community Support Scheme to help the Oaklands Centre buy new kitchen equipment.

The centre, based in Warsop, is made up of a 20-bedroom complex. It provides a home and respite care for adults with learning difficulties.

The donated funds will allow staff to prepare more food much faster, enabling them to spend further quality time with the residents.

Alison Collier, centre administrator, said: It’s wonderful that The Mansfield Building Society gives back to its local community.

“It means we can provide a further level of care, and help residents become more self-reliant. The donation will go a long way.”

Carole Dallison, customer service manager at the society, who visited the centre during its summer fair, said: “The facilities at the Oaklands Centre are fantastic and the residents are engaged with the staff, which is great to see.
“I can see how the new kitchen equipment will positively impact everyone here.”

The community support scheme funds groups and organisations in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.

It meets in May and November to consider applications.
