Posted onPosted on 10th Jul

Workplace teams took part in the Active Ashfield Games It’s A Knockout competitions at Kingsway Park, Kirkby.

It was part of Active Ashfield’s campaign to engage workplaces to become more active through fun and sociable activity.

Teams tackled obstacles, water and foam throughout two evenings, gaining points along the way.

Twelve teams participated in the first competition with Everyone Health (pictured) the winners and Kings Mill Hospital Stroke Unit runners-up. The following evening JTF, of Hucknall, triumphed out of 11 teams. New Cross Nutters were runners-up slot.

Teams made a donation to Active Ashfield’s adopted charity for the year and more than £800 was raised for the Ashfield and Mansfield Dementia Action Alliance.

Coun Amanda Brown, portfolio holder for Health and Wellbeing at Ashfield District Council, said: “The council is pleased to have received the Nottinghamshire Wellbeing @ Work Silver Award and is now working towards the gold standard, which includes engaging workplaces across Ashfield in health promotion and activities.

“It’s great to see so many workplace teams taking part, having fun and raising funds for a great local cause.”
