Mansfield Market will be celebrating the national Love Your Local Market campaign with a fortnight of events, activities and entertainment.

The two weeks of fun begins on Wednesday, 17 May with a baby and children’s market selling pre-loved clothes, books and toys alongside toddler entertainment from SureStart.

Then from 11am to 3pm on Saturday 20, May there is a Love Local party with animal roadshow from White Post Farm, live music, children’s craft activities and face painting.

Perfect your cookery skills on Wednesday, 24 May between 11am and 2pm with live cooking demonstrations, free veg bags and recipe to take home.

Finally, get creative at the arts and crafts market on Friday 26 May with specialist stalls alongside crochet sessions with Yankee Yarns and hanging basket workshops from 11am to 2pm.

Throughout the two week campaign, shoppers of all ages can complete a competition sheet to win vouchers to spend on the market and pick up a free re-useable shopping bag (subject to availability).

Mike Robinson, Director of Economic Growth at Mansfield District Council, said: “The Love Your Local Market fortnight is a perfect time to come along and show support for your local market.

“As well as events for everyone to enjoy, we are offering discounts for our regular traders and of course our Business Incubation Scheme which offers a rent free stall to new traders with new product lines.

“Make sure you come along to enjoy a great day out and grab a bargain.”

The specialist markets run from 8.30am to 4pm alongside usual market stalls, which include fresh produce, clothing and pet items.
