A law firm that took part in the 2016 Will Aid Will writing campaign has broken through its fundraising target of £25,000.
Fidler & Pepper Solicitors, which has offices in Sutton and Mansfield, took part in the annual campaign, which raises money for charities in November, raising £3,735.
It was the eighth year Fidler & Pepper had taken part and meant the firm, which specialises in wills, trusts and probate matters, has now raised a total of £25,406 for Will Aid.
Will Aid is a scheme where solicitors write basic wills for their local community and instead of charging them a fee, ask for a donation to charity in exchange.
Richard Howard, who heads up the private client team at the firm, said: “We are extremely proud of our team for giving up their valuable time and using their skills for such a worthwhile cause.
“Will Aid is a superb initiative which targets the many people without a Will as well as helping nine incredible charities.
“This year not only did we raise more than any previous year, but we have reached the significant milestone of £25,000 since joining the campaign, which we are thrilled about.”
The scheme supports nine of the UK’s best-loved charities – ActionAid, Age UK, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, NSPCC, Save the Children, Sightsavers, SCIAF (Scotland) and Trocaire (Northern Ireland).
The recommended donation for a basic Will Aid will is £95 for a single Will and £150 for a pair of mirror wills.
