Looking to future at new care home

Posted onPosted on 28th Feb

Pupils from Hillocks Primary School, Sutton, helped staff at a new care home bury a time capsule.
They were asked by the home to collect artefacts for the time capsule that would give children of the future a glimpse of what life was like in 2017.

Pupils from Years 5 and 6 visited Kingfisher Court with teaching assistant, Michelle Scott and governor Naomi Parker. Also present at the ceremony was Coun Steve Carroll and the capsule included a recent newspaper article about his involvement with the school.

Pupil Maisie Berry read a poem. Home manager Paul Quirk unveiled a sundial. Kingfisher Court, which will be run by the Oakdale Care Group, is due to open in April.
