Care home to create 50 jobs

Posted onPosted on 10th Feb

A new, luxury care home in Sutton-in-Ashfield will create more than 50 new jobs for local people when it opens in April.

Kingfisher Court, located on Kingfisher Way, will provide residential and dementia care for 66 elderly people in spacious en-suite accommodation. The home will open in April following the completion of an extensive induction and training programme for the staff team.

The home has been built by LNT Care Developments and will be run by Oakdale Care Group – a small, privately owned company. Co-Founder of Oakdale Care Group Chris Babington said: “We are really keen to promote care as a positive career choice and hope to see the people who come to work at Kingfisher Court progress within their careers by providing great care to the people who will live with us”.

The new staff team will be led by manager Paul Quirk, who said: “It is really exciting to set up and manage a new home with responsibility for recruiting a full team of new staff. Myself, Chris and everyone at Oakdale are incredibly passionate about care and I am certain we will find the right people to make Kingfisher Court a home from home for the people who live with us and, also a key part of the local community.”

The luxurious home which is located next to the Toby Carvery on Kingfisher Way, will provide individually tailored care with features such as a cinema room, English Tea Room, library and landscaped gardens for residents and their visitors to enjoy. The home is due to open in April and will hold a public open days on 15th and 16th April where local residents can view the facilities and reserve rooms.
