Children can get crafty making Peter Pan finger puppets in the Buzzy B Club from 11am to 3pm.

The Four Seasons Shopping Centre will host Santa’s Big Arrival Show on West Gate, repeated at 11am, 12noon, 1pm and 2pm. The show will include appearances from The Snowman™ and a host of Santa’s friends, as well as the big man himself.

The Market Place will be home to a circus skills workshop from 12noon, Christmas face-painting and then a children’s party from 2.30pm. This all takes place alongside music from Pleasley Colliery Welfare brass band at 12.15pm and The Red Hot Band offering a jazz and swing sound from 1.30pm. At 3pm a theatre school concert will begin on stage with performances from Razzamataz and Funky Studios.

The main stage show itself begins at 3.30pm in the Market Place and is filled with musical entertainment from Soul Rhythm and Katie Markham. There will also be appearances from stars of the Palace Theatre’s pantomime, Peter Pan and a special sing along with The Snowman™.

One lucky child, the winner of the VIP package auction, will come up on stage at 5pm to switch on the lights and set off a magical firework display. Don’t forget to place your bids with Mansfield 103.2 this week if you want to win this fabulous opportunity. All proceeds go to the Kings Mill Toy Appeal.

This year the town has a 34ft Norway Spruce Christmas tree in the Market Place that has been sponsored by the Mansfield 2020 business community group.

Mayor Kate Allsop, said: “With only a few days to go, we are all getting excited about the launch of Christmas in Mansfield.

“It really will be a spectacular day of fun and excitement for all the family so make sure you wrap up warm and join us this Sunday.”
