Furniture sale helps charity

Posted onPosted on 1st Nov

A homebuilder has raised money for a charity that helps the elderly in Mansfield and Ashfield.
Westerman Homes, which is currently developing its Larwood Park site, off Sutton Road and Wentworth Road, Kirkby, handed over a cheque for £1,111 to the Jigsaw Support Scheme.

The funds were raised by the builder from the sale of furniture during a show-home refurbishment.
Julie Whitehouse, marketing and sales manager at Westerman Homes, was invited to attend one of the weekly Jigsaw Friends lunches to meet some of the people who use Jigsaw and to make the presentation.

The charity was chosen by the developer as it is local to the Larwood Park development.

Along with its Jigsaw Friends lunches, which also include outings throughout the year, the charity has a home befriending scheme, which matches volunteers to those in need of company and friendship.

There is also a Jigsaw Independence Service that enables local people to live independently at home.

For more information on the Larwood Park development go to the sales and information centre and show homes, which are open daily from 11am to 5pm, call 01623 549710 or go to www.westermanhomes.co.uk
