Experts at Fidler & Pepper Solicitors have teamed up with Nottinghamshire Hospice as part of the charity’s Make Your Will month running throughout October.
It is the only law firm in the Mansfield and Ashfield area to be taking part in the scheme, which encourages people to have a professionally-written Will but make a donation to Notts Hospice in lieu of paying the solicitors.
Sam Billington, Legacy, In Memoriam and Trust Fundraiser at the hospice, said: “Your Will is one of the most important documents you will ever sign and it ensures your estate and possessions can be distributed as you wish. It will also ensure peace of mind and security, not just to you but to those you love, as well as supporting your local Hospice.
“All of the money donated by you for the drafting of the Will is given directly to Nottinghamshire Hospice by your chosen solicitor to help us to provide care and support to local people, their families and carers.”
The amount people choose to donate is a personal choice, but solicitors taking part suggest that a donation is equal to their normal charges for making a Will.
The amount suggested is between £75 and £150 but this is only a suggested donation and all donations should be freely given.
Fidler & Pepper’s Richard Howard, who has a wealth of experience in helping people to draw up Wills, said: “Once again, we are happy to help support the hospice, whose services are relied upon by so many local people.
“Hopefully, people will take advantage of this charitable scheme and see that now is the time that they make a Will. It will give them peace of mind and it will help people too.”
