Panto stars and Peter Pan-themed activities will be part of the Christmas Lights switch-on show in Mansfield Market Place.

The Big Switch-On 2016 will take place on Sunday, 20th November and include free family entertainment.

TV stars appearing in the Palace Theatre panto, Peter Pan, will be taking part, including panto baddie Captain Hook, played by Marc Baylis, known for his role as ‘bad boy’ Rob Donovan in Coronation Street.

Holly Atterton, from Go! Go! Go! on Nick Jr. will be playing Tinker Bell

The event will mark the opening of a Santa’s grotto in the Four Seasons Shopping Centre and the start of weekly late-night Thursday shopping from 24th November.

There will be festive activities taking place near the library from 11am, provided by the Four Seasons.

A stage show will include performances by local groups and a headline act playing Christmas hits.

The Four Seasons children’s Buzzy B Club will be running, from 11am to 3pm, inside the centre, with a Peter Pan finger puppet-making activity.

Mansfield Business Improvement District (BID) will be running a Tinker Bell-themed prize treasure hunt.

The event is being organised by Mansfield District Council with the Four Seasons Shopping Centre, Mansfield 103.2, Mansfield BID and the Palace Theatre.
