After the success of the first Summer Festival at King George V Park, the next Mansfield District Council event is on Wednesday 10 August at award-winning Titchfield Park in the town, from 10am to 3pm.
There are arena attractions, including a fun dog show with doggy dancing and tricks for the chance to win rosettes. The council’s dog control team will also be on hand to offer advice on responsible dog ownership- you can even have a selfie taken with Scoop Dog.
There will be arts and craft activities to take part in, as well as reptiles to see and handle and face-painting. There is the chance to tackle the climbing wall and have a pony ride around the enclosure, giant garden games, a circus workshops, maypole dancing and parachute games.
There are also hands-on bird box and bug hotel making activities provided by Maun Conservation Group, as well as information stands and quizzes to educate the community about topical issues.
At Titchfield Park there’s also a duck race for families to take part in for a small donation. Prizes are up for grabs.
Representatives from various council departments, including Environmental Health, Leisure and Community Safety will also be available to answer questions and give advice.
Most activities are free but some will require a small donation.
Coun Andrew Tristram, Mansfield District Council’s Portfolio Holder for the Environment, said: “The next Summer Festival at Titchfield Park is sure to be huge and with something for everyone to have a go at, so there’s no better reason to get out the house, come rain or shine, to make the most of the summer holidays.”
The next and last Summer Festivals is at Carr Lane Park, Warsop on Wednesday 24 August from 10am to 3pm.
