Mansfield District Council is looking for traders to join in the summer of fun and stand on the market this August to complement the town’s beach setting.
The council is looking for traders who sell toys, buckets and spades, children’s swim wear, sun hats, holiday clothes and seaside rock, plus other summer themed items, to take up a stall and sell to a new audience.
The “Life’s a Beach” free play activity, which is complete with buckets and spades and provided by Mansfield BID on behalf of the town centre businesses, will be open from 1 to 27 August and promises to bring a seaside feel to the town.
The beach is free and open daily from 10am to 4pm. It has been organised in partnership with market trader Food for all Seasons, who can regularly be seen on the Market Place throughout the year.
To celebrate the arrival of the beach, Cate Great, a world class Covent Garden entertainer who uses physical theatre to entertain the crowds, will be performing on Mansfield Market on Saturday 30 July.
She will demonstrate acrobatic and juggling skills, whilst offering a laugh a minute with her show stopping performances. Cate Great is coming to Mansfield with thanks to sponsorship from the long established family run furniture retailer, FA Henshaws.
Cllr David Smith, Portfolio Holder for Cultural Services, Town and District Centres, said: “The beach will be a big draw for local families so this would be a great trading opportunity for stallholders. We hope some seasonal stalls will take up these spaces which will help to bring a real flavour of summer to Mansfield town centre.”
Traders who are interested in taking up a stall can sign up at any time. To find out about availability and stall prices contact the market team.
