Staff at King’s Mill Hospital have launched a campaign to improve patient safety.
Staff, patients and members of the public have been invited to share their views on patient safety by posting comments on the Patient Safety Pillar in the hospital’s main entrance.
The hospital handles more than 500,000 cases a year and employs more than 3,500 people.
Consultant surgeon Nick Watson said: “The comments will be collated to help the hospital focus on what we are doing well and where we can make improvements.
“We want as many comments as possible from patients, visitors and staff at all levels across the whole Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.”
Speaking at the project launch, trust medical director Dr Andy Haynes described patient safety as a lifelong learning process for everyone in the health service.
“Making our patients safe is a 24/7 activity and we need to make sure that all our staff are aware, trained and supported to deliver it,” he said.
A similar launch is planned at Mansfield Community Hospital.
The campaign is part of a wider patient safety programme developed in partnership with Nottingham University Hospitals.
