Further education staff at Sutton Community Academy hosted a Mad Hatter’s tea party for primary school children to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday.
Staff and children dressed as characters from Alice In Wonderland or in red, white and blue. The High Sheriff of Nottinghamshire, Judy Naake, joined the celebrations to talk about her role within the community and led the children in a happy birthday sing-along for the Queen.
Children took part in science, engineering, technology and maths activities, included green-screen technology, bouncing character cups, 3D box making and drink potions. All the children got the chance to meet a family of meerkats and there was an acrobatic glow show.
