Chance to run your own café in Titchfield Park

Posted onPosted on 21st Jun

An opportunity has arisen for a café to open in the pavilion at Mansfield’s Titchfield Park.

Mansfield District Council has made the premises available to rent on a negotiable three-year licence as a restaurant, café, snack bar or similar venture.

The pavilion comprises a large function room, kitchen, storage, cloakroom and small grassed area for outdoor seating. There is also a covered veranda overlooking the recently installed multi-use games area and the Water Meadows Swimming and Fitness Complex.

Cllr Andrew Tristram, Portfolio Holder for the Environment at Mansfield District Council, said: “This is an ideal opportunity for a business to benefit from being located in this prime spot in one of our award-winning parks. It will be a fantastic spot for people living and working nearby to grab a drink or bite to eat.”

The Green Flag park, which has a large play area, petanque courts, outdoor gym equipment, and the River Maun running through it, attracts people of all ages. It hosts regular events and is surrounded by numerous businesses and homes.

There are toilets on site, which must be open to the public, free of charge, during opening times which would be between 7:30am and 6pm.

The pavilion was fully refurbished in 2002 and is in an excellent state of repair and decoration. Work may be required for its use as a food retail premises. As such, a negotiable rent-free period may be available to cover the cost of any essential work.

The submission deadline for applications is Friday 8 July 2016.
