Members of Girlguiding Nottinghamshire are inviting the community to join them for a day of fun and games when they stage their annual ‘take-over’ of Mansfield Market Place on Saturday, 18th June.
Local Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Young Leaders will be filling the space with stalls and activities running from 9am to 4pm. The girls have been preparing for the day by working on their singing, dancing and music-making, and they plan to keep themselves – and the public – extra-fit with skipping and hula-hooping.
“I’m sure the day is going to show just how brilliant it is to be part of Girlguiding,” says Sarah Clarkson, who runs 3rd Rainworth Brownies. “We particularly hope it will demonstrate how much fun adults have when they get involved with organisations like ours – and maybe it will even inspire a few new volunteers to get in touch.”
Girlguiding Nottinghamshire is the largest girls-only organisation in the county and has over 9,000 members supported by some 2,000 adult leaders and helpers.
