Solicitors urge companies to show support for Framework

Solicitors in Mansfield and Ashfield are urging fellow businesses in the area to support the work of an organisation that helps homeless people.

Fidler & Pepper Solicitors is supporting the work of Framework, a charity existing to tackle the causes and consequences of homelessness and helping people to live independent lives.

This year is Framework’s 15th birthday. The organisation has grown from reaching out and helping 1,254 homeless and vulnerable people in 2001 to serving more than 11,000 people in 2016.

Framework is holding its Do It for Framework Day on June 10, and Fidler & Pepper are asking businesses to support the day.

The money raised is crucial to fund the work of the charity and will contribute to public donations, trust funding and local authority grants enabling services that offer housing, guidance and rehabilitation for vulnerable people 365 days a year.

Mark Slade, Managing partner at Fidler and Pepper, said: “It is well documented that Framework carries out vital work in its area of expertise and it is incumbent on businesses to help the communities in which they operate.

“Therefore, we would ask that they find out more about what Framework does and see if they can match their skillsets to requirements. It will be good for their staff, for Framework and the community.”

Jess Powell, Corporate Fundraiser at Framework said: “We are encouraging all of our supporters whether they are businesses, community groups or individuals to do something on or around this date to either fundraise or to help raise awareness of Framework.

“Developing new relationships with local businesses is so important in continuing our work not only for the financial benefit but also for raising awareness of Framework, homelessness and the need to support vulnerable people.

“Hitting our target of £10,000 would mean that this year we could provide every person moving into a new home a pack of essential items to move with – usually something to sit on, sleep on and cook with.”

Businesses can volunteer personal and business skills to a service and area within the charity that can benefit, volunteer at events, or volunteer time to support specific service needs, such as decorating to Make a House a Home.

In addition, companies can offer sponsorship, with events such as the ‘Mansfield Big Snore’, one of Framework’s leading fundraising events, or by partnering with a local service and raising funds for their specific need.
